In 2012 we have planned workshops on leadership and another social media workshop.  We are also planning a one day conference with stimulating and provocative speakers.

Chamber of Commerce Market Validation workshop

The Whanganui Employers Chamber of Commerce is hosting a workshop on assessing new business opportunities.  While primarily aimed at business the same principles apply to community organisations looking to ad a new service.

Jenny Douché is passionate about market validation.  She is an active entrepreneur and business mentor and seen first-hand the magical opportunities that market validation can uncover.  The result is a much greater chance of successful commercialisation of products and services.  Market validation is not just about asking customers if they’d buy your product, it’s about understanding their behaviours and barriers to changing those behaviours.  It’s also about getting advice and insights from potential partners and other influential people.

Jenny is also the publisher of the newly released book, Foolproof: how to find and test great business opportunities.  The book is a practical, guide to market validation and is full of New Zealand case studies.  It was written to help bridge the sometimes huge gap between innovation and successful commercialisation.  Find out more at www.foolproofbook.com.

In association with Webquest Ltd and WebAssist Ltd, we are combining to bring you this workshop which will explore how you can use Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, blogs and websites to enhance the way you communicate with stakeholders.

Leah Villanueva is an expert in these fields and will be leading the course – she has recently been in the Phillipines working on enhancements for Facebook. Yes, we have one of the world’s experts right here in Whanganui!
