Kia Ora and welcome to the Whanganui Community Foundation.

Our Trustees, in conjunction with the community have developed our purpose statement.

Our role is to help community organisations to carry out charitable, educational, cultural, philanthropic and recreation activities in the wider Whanganui area.  We do this by making grants, providing professional development opportunities for community organisations and providing advisory services and other community development activities.

5 10 5 10 is a project designed to encourage community participation.  It encourages us to aspire to give 5% of our income to community based charities, reduce our impact on the earth by 10% per year, give 5 days of our time to the community and be involved in 10 acts of community decision making.  You'll find more information on 510510.org.nz  Check it out
