Our Trustees, in conjunction with the community have developed our purpose statement.

PURPOSE STATEMENT
The purpose of the Whanganui Community Foundation is to encourage greater social well being and empowerment in our region. To do this the Foundation will use a community development approach.

Our role is to help community organisations to carry out charitable, educational, cultural, philanthropic and recreation activities in the wider Whanganui area.  We do this by making grants, providing professional development opportunities for community organisations and providing advisory services and other community development activities.
